Teens

We are contacting you to ask for your support in saving teen lives. As you can imagine, one of the most important events in a teenager’s life is obtaining a driver’s license. Teen drivers account for just 6.6 percent of all licensed drivers, and yet they account for nearly 14 percent of all fatal crashes. In an effort to improve these odds, Toyota is bringing its program to promote safe driving among teens, Toyota Driving Expectations, to:

Lone Star Park

Grand Prairie, TX

November 7-9 and 14-16

What is Toyota Driving Expectations?

A free program that puts newly licensed teens (and teens with permits)into the classroom for instruction, and behind the wheel on multiple defensive driving courses.

A program that offers parents insight into the challenges facing teen drivers and provides recommendations and countermeasures for any driving concerns they may have.

Fully funded by Toyota and endorsed by both the National Safety Council and the Federal Highway Administration.

Toyota Driving Expectations goes beyond what is currently taught in typical driver’s training classes in order to help teens identify and react to dangerous driving situations. To better understand the critical relationship between distractions and reaction time, both teens and parents navigate a driving course while drinking water, listening to loud music and talking on a cell phone. They also experience hard braking maneuvers on wet and dry pavement and maneuver through multiple slalom driving courses under the watchful eyes of professional drivers.

We are writing you today to ask for your support in spreading awareness of this program within your organization. Our goal is to educate teen drivers & parents alike. Below, please find a link to download an event flyer with more information on Toyota Driving Expectations for distribution to teens and parents:

http://emi.eim-inc.com/TDE/Fall Flyer.pdf

The program is open to the general public and is free of charge. Registration is available online at www.ToyotaDrivingExpectations.com.

Thank you in advance for your help in keeping your student drivers safe behind the wheel.

Sincerely, Toyota Driving Expectations Team
