Calling All Mothers and Girls
We have a new opportunity this year for moms and daughters ages 5-12 (The moms can be older) Also preschool girls ages 3-4 can attend if an older sister is involved.
* We will be using the book Just Mom and Me Having Tea by Mary Murray.
* Moms will do the Bible studies and some of the mother/ daughter activities in the book BEFORE the monthly tea party.
* We will have a monthly tea party. Each party has a theme (Formal, Garden, Rainbow, Teddy Bear, etc.) and helps us emphasize each month’s Bible study (God Made me Special, Friendship, Family Matters, Loving God’s Word etc.)
* Tea parties will be on the 3rd or 4th Thursday of each month–Sept.- Nov. and Jan. – April.
* Moms will take turns hosting/ co-hosting, planning activities, and planning the menu / bringing the treats.
* I have ordered books and they will be available around Sept. 7. The cost is $10. I only ordered 10. You can also procure your own.
Those interested in “Mom and Me Having Tea” will need to sign up (by email) for a month to host / help, and also pick up a book by SEPTEMBER 10.
In addition, if anyone, including a teen, wants to organize social activities monthly for our homeschooled teens, you may have several takers. Right now there is an honor society for the high schoolers, but not a social outlet per se.
Another idea which has come to my attention is a mentoring program for our new homeschoolers. We would like to pair up new homeschoolers ( 1st -3rd year) with willing veterans (4th year and beyond) for one on one mentoring in homeschooling. I will announce this at our meeting in September, but we would also love to have both mentors and new home schoolers express their interest by email to Rhonda at veteranmama@yahoo.com. These pairs can contact each other, ask/ answer questions, meet together, etc. This would be an informal relationship, but the mentor needs to be serious about being available to help the new homeschooler with their questions, etc. I just wanted to make this available, so please take advantage if you would like to do this.

I am looking to meet up with some homeschool moms. I have a First Grade girl that I am beginning to homeschool. I homeschooled my middle schooler in the the past but he is now at North. At that time I lived in Va and Central Texas so I had connections. I have none here and I know that I am late on the game but do you have any suggestions or information?
